- To be considered for automatic entry to Sixth Form you must have a minimum of 5A* - C GCSEs including Maths and English. A BTEC or OCR/Cambridge National must be awarded at Merit or Distinction to count, and you can only count it as ONE of the 5 GCSEs needed. If you have two or more BTECs or OCR/Cambridge Nationals only ONE will count.
- It is our experience that students without the minimum requirements are generally unable to meet the demands of A level study.
- To be accepted onto certain courses there are additional requirements that must be met. These are explained separately by the relevant subject departments. In many cases, a B grade at GCSE is needed.
- Students who just miss the basic requirements for automatic entry may be considered on an individual basis. Students in this position will have their applications considered by the Head of Sixth Form and the Headteacher. The Headteacher’s decision is final.
